A friend of mine told me the following story:
One of the first oils I ever used after receiving my Young Living Starter Kit was peppermint oil. I was struggling with a stuffy nose from a cold and just wanted a little more air to flow through my nose. Ah! …to be able to breathe through your nose is a wonderful thing. Just saying!
Anyway, I went on to praise this wonderful smelling oil and threw my Vicks in the trash. The peppermint oil wasn’t sticky and greasy like Vicks and I could lay in bed with my hands cupped over my nose and breathe the relief in. The peppermint oil didn’t cure my cold, but it would open up my nasal passages for some temporary relief.
I told my husband what it did for me and he bought some peppermint oil at the grocery store to keep in his car and at the office. He struggles with allergies and was hoping for the same results. What he learned was that not all peppermint oils are created equal!! The peppermint oil he bought evaporated quickly, didn’t last as long as the Young Living brand, and he ended up just throwing it away. Basically, the peppermint oil, although it came from the health food section of the store was not as concentrated as the Young Living peppermint oil. I’m not sure what it takes to make peppermint oil, but we won’t waste our money on other brands.
How about that!
